LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding organisations. We have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. In this time, our qualifications have helped hundreds of thousands of candidates of all ages and abilities to develop lifelong skills.
LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. Our ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.
LAMDA has been recognised as an awarding organisation by Ofqual, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations in England. LAMDA’s Level 3 recognised qualifications are included in the current Tariff. The University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is the organisation responsible for managing applications to higher education courses in the UK.
After several successful terms of LAMDA training, tutoring will continue. This course is open to those new to Lamda Exams and also those who have already taken an exam.
Specialist tutoring sessions will take place in small groups during the term. These sessions will take place at Newborough village hall on Wednesdays at 4.30-5.30pm. Spaces are very limited and will be on a first come first served basis.
Examinations will take place in Cambridge at the end of a term and will be either on a Saturday or Sunday dependant on allocation.
(Confirmations of date and time will be received 7 days before the examination.)
Students will study the Acting examination and will be assisted in choosing 2 varying pieces to perform for the examiner. Some theoretic knowledge will also be taught.
Students must memorise and recite all lines and some extra rehearsal time at home is advised for all examinations. Please visit www.lamda.org.uk to find out more or contact Amy on createtheatrearts@outlook.com
