Fernie Close playing field presentation.
Please find below the presentation used at Newborough Village Hall on Saturday 18th January. Also included is a document on which residents can indicate their preference.
The age group aimed at is from approximately 10 years and above, although many of the equipment specifications recommend a minimum height which often means it brings in younger children also.
Originally the proposal was to include a zip wire. However, following expert advice the type of ground we have in the village (constantly moving) would result in the wire needing tensioning too regularly to make it cost effective. We are happy to look into skate boarding facilities but they would have to be modular types. The reason for this is determined by the conditions in the lease of the field. At the end of the lease the Parish Council is responsible for the cost of reinstating the field back to it's original state. We recognise that concrete structures would be preferred however, their removal at the end of the lease (If the leaseholder chooses to not renew it) would leave a prohibitive cost for removal of the structures.

Newborough volunteers plant Bill's bulbs
A group of volunteers have planted nearly 1000 bulbs along Peterborough Road. Kindly supplied by Bill Barsby and the gardening Club the bulbs are planted in memory of Bills wife and a reminder of the many happy times he has spent walking his dog along the Peterborough Road. The bulbs will give a beautiful display in spring. Hopefully people will admire the display and think of happy memories past.
